After many months of coldness and an unusual amount of snow and rain, the flowers have awoken from their winter slumber. Everything in the backyard is blooming with such brilliance!

I wanted to break out my macro lens to get some detailed shots, however, I forgot I no longer have that lens 😦 Sometimes you have to work with what you’ve got, and looking in my camera bag was a Sony 100-400mm super-telephoto lens.

The lens has some wicked close focusing capabilities (1.25ft) that allowed for some nice “bokeh” while retaining tack sharp focus. I’m sure there will be more spring flowers to come but I hope you enjoy these for now.
